Whole grains are a much better option than any sort of processed grain (.e., white flour, white rice, pasta). As I'm sure you already know, processed grains have had parts of the grain kernel removed, which usually involves stripping away the bran and germ. This removes fiber, vitamins, and minerals, which makes it less nutritious.
Whole grains that have all of the grain kernel - like quinoa, or oats are much more nutritious option! However, because I prioritize blood sugar balance, I usually only have a small amount of whole grains, or I opt for lower-carb, nutrient rich alternatives like cauliflower rice, squash, legumes, potatoes, chia/flax seeds. When I do have whole grains, I just try to ensure I pair them with protein and fiber to help with my glucose uptake!
Let me know if you have more questions and if that helps!!
Great question!! I like Frankies Organic which you can find at Whole Foods, Brightland which you can get on Amazon or direct, and I like the 365 Organic Olive Oil as well which is more affordable.

Thank you- this is helpful!!
This is probably too broad of a question as I suppose you use several brands, but is there an olive oil you like best?

For the 365 brand, I have not tested that one to see if it's pure or cut with other oils yet, so I actually just put some in the fridge tonight to do the test and will report back tomorrow! If you are not familiar with that test, essentially 100% pure olive oil should become a solid in the fridge if left overnight. If it does not, you'll know it's been cut with another oil. Here is an article that shares more: https://www.mindbodygreen.com/articles/how-to-know-if-your-olive-oil-is-pure?srsltid=AfmBOoqinFW3kxk_77eCENunC-JF17HAlziqJDMLUwKfmkJlizovz3KB
Hope that helps!!

I’ve never purchased an olive oil that wasn’t in glass so Frankie‘s will be interesting to try. Thanks for the great answer.
Which magnesium do you use?
