The Color Club is Live!
It’s like having your favorite colorful, cookbook in your pocket, but new pages are added every week.
My website is LIVE and it includes something I’m very excited to share with you all called THE COLOR CLUB.
In The Color Club, you’ll get (at least) 1 new recipe each week that’s easy, colorful, and blood sugar friendly and you’ll have access to the entire library of previous (so far 40+ and growing) recipes, as well and more to come, such as exclusive giveaways and discounts. There are some oldie but goodie recipes in there, as well as some never-before-seen recipes!
It’s just $5/month (less than a matcha latte) so please give it a try! You can cancel at any time. Please please please share your feedback with me! I can’t wait to hear it and iterate on The Color Club according to your feedback. My goal is to help make it as EASY, FUN, and DELICIOUS as possible for you to cook in color.
I’ll still be sharing some recipes for free on Substack, but you’ll find many more in The Color Club. Charging a small fee allows me to deliver an experience to you that is not riddled with ads and long SEO driven paragraphs 🤦🏼♀️, but instead focuses on bringing you JUST the science and food information you need to cook in color, via a more seamless user experience.
You can read more about Cooking in Color and the Color Club purpose here. In short, I’ve been studying, learning, testing, and cooking up recipes in my home kitchen for years now and I was motivated to create a better experience (than just Instagram) to share these learnings and recipes. My goal is to empower as many people as I can to understand what it really means to cook to support their metabolic health. We are literally building our future bodies and lives every day, through the food we consume. I want my life (and yours!!) to be as healthy, colorful, and vibrant, and it starts with food.
At the bottom of each recipe page, there is also a “Print This Recipe” button so you can easily print out any recipe from your phone or desktop to have on your counter while cooking!
I’ve got some free recipes up on the website here, so you can get a sense of the format of the recipes in the Color Club.
I also shared a little intro reel about the Color Club on IG!!
A huge thank you to my dear friend Aaron Barker for being my partner in crime in bringing this brand to life. He’s a brilliant freelance creative strategist and brand designer, you can follow his work at Sideline studio or if you want to connect with him, let me know and I’d be happy to facilitate it!!
This week, I’m sharing a very eagerly awaited recipe - the Stone Fruit Crisp with Ginger Cardamom Biscuits. I’ve made these a few times now, and brought them to a dinner party a few weeks back and they were a HUGE hit.
One of the cooking in color principles is “A Lil’ Zhuzh” and while that usually means adding herbs, spices, ferments, seeds or something saucy to a meal, it also means sometimes I like to find ways to ZHUZH up something simple to make it even more exciting. That’s what these ginger cardamom biscuits do to your simple fruit crisp. I love fruit crisps, but sometimes I want them to have a little somethin’ somethin’ besides chopped nuts or oats on top. This biscuit is blood sugar friendly, made with nutrient-dense flours, and it’s bursting with flavor from the cardamom and ginger.
Yields: 12 servings (with 12 biscuits)
Total time: 60 minutes
Prep time: 15 minutes
Bake time: 45 minutes
Chefs Kisses,
Sonja
So excited for this burst of color in my inbox each week and for our future cooking date! Congrats on this amazing launch!
